I’m Sam Russell, a composer based in West London. I write classical music and work with a production team in Rome to have my scores professionally performed, recorded and filmed.

My ambition is to build a growing collection of works that people return to: music to listen to closely, enjoy at home, and bring to life through performance.

Patronage helps me pursue that work consistently. It gives me the freedom to develop new ideas, revise them carefully and prepare them for the musicians who will perform them.

The recordings you’ve heard are the beginning. Your support helps me create what comes next.

Your membership supports the work behind each finished release:

Every level contributes to the same purpose: helping me keep composing and sharing new music.

Supporter — $8 per month

Help sustain my work and hear the music as it develops.

You’ll receive:

• Access to my catalogue as it grows.
• Early listening access to new recordings before their public release.
• Downloads of new recordings released during your membership.
• Patron updates, with occasional sketches, score excerpts and work-in-progress demos.
• An optional acknowledgement on my website’s supporter roll while your membership is active.
• A credit in the credits section of all videos released during your membership.

Patron — $50 per month

Receive lasting recognition for your part in bringing new music to listeners.

You’ll receive everything included with Supporter membership, plus:

• A yearly signed patrons-only CD with all new recordings.

Principal Patron — $245 per month

Make a substantial contribution to the development and recording of my music.

You’ll receive everything included with Supporter membership, plus:

• A full card credit in video releases

Your recognition remains on the qualifying releases after your membership ends.

Monthly memberships renew monthly; annual memberships renew annually. You can cancel future renewals at any time. Printed-score rewards become available after 12 monthly payments or an annual payment. Please see the delivery and shipping details below.

Your name alongside the music

Patronage becomes part of the story of a work.

For Patrons and Principal Patrons, that contribution is acknowledged in the finished recording and its accompanying patron-edition score. You’ll have a physical edition to keep, with your name among the people who helped make the music possible.

Before a qualifying release goes into production, I’ll confirm how you would like your name to appear. You can also choose to remain anonymous.

Follow the music from idea to recording

Through my Composer’s Letters and patron updates, I’ll share what I’m working on and the decisions that shape it.

You might hear an early idea alongside its finished version, see a passage from a score, or discover a detail to listen for in the next recording.

You don’t need to read music or understand composition to enjoy these updates. I’ll explain the work through things you can hear.

The free newsletter shares selected music and stories. Paid membership adds early listening, recording downloads and patron updates, with printed editions and recording recognition at the higher levels.

Questions about becoming a patron

Do I need to read music?

No. You’re welcome here simply because you enjoy listening.

The scores offered at the higher levels are also keepsakes: signed editions documenting the music and the people who supported its creation.

How often will you release new recordings?

The schedule will vary with the pieces and the production involved. I don’t promise a new professional recording every month.

Your membership supports the ongoing process of composing and bringing works to performance. I’ll share progress and announce recording plans as they are confirmed.

Which recordings will include my name?

All patrons are acknowledged in the credits of videos.

When will I receive my printed score?

Annual-paying Patrons and Principal Patrons qualify following their annual payment. Monthly-paying members qualify after 12 successful monthly payments.

I'll send these out in January.

Where do you ship?

In theory, worldwide. If you life somewhere especially remote or with unreliable postal service, let me know.

Can I change or cancel my membership?

Yes. You can manage your subscription through your account and cancel future renewals at any time.

Your access continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Credits already published on qualifying releases remain in place.

Can I remain anonymous?

Absolutely. Public recognition is optional.

Does patronage include ownership or royalties?

Membership offers the benefits and recognition described above. Copyright and artistic decisions remain with me; patronage doesn’t confer ownership, royalties or a financial return.
